Acquisition Sparks Challenge for Oil & Gas Company

What happens when an acquisition occurs and you need to integrate and upgrade existing SCADA systems? This client turned to JMP's Oil and Gas team.

JMP Delivers on Client's Pressing Problem

A major press stamping facility had purchased five de-commissioned presses that required completely new controls and wiring to be functional. The client already had many presses running a black box style of Clutch / Brake control that their press operators were very familiar with but that used technology that was non-standard for the plant.

JMP Brokers Communication between the Factory and the Enterprise

An automotive parts manufacturer needed a highly accurate and cost-effective plant level to enterprise level integration solution. Greater data integrity and accuracy is achieved with the elimination of manual integration procedures required by less advanced integration methodologies.

JMP Keeps Things Moving for Food Industry Customer

The cereals and dry snacks division of a globally recognized food manufacturer was having problems keeping their sorting conveyors moving. The existing barcode system was at the end of its lifecycle; hence increased downtime, troubleshooting challenges, and product misreads were having a direct impact on their bottom line.

Using Grey Water to Reduce Energy Costs

Client has an ongoing need to reduce energy and utility usage at the brewery. This particular project addressed the effective use of grey water at the plant. Grey water is water that has been used in a process leaving it unsuitable for use in the product but still useful for auxiliary uses throughout the plant.

JMP Relieves Auto Manufacturer's Gas Pains

A major automotive assembly plant was having gas problems. Errors in fuel filling meant that cars coming off the line sometimes had too much, too little, or none at all. The automotive manufacturer was looking for a solution that would error-proof the actions of the fuel filling operators and give them financial relief from gas pains.

JMP Boosts Quantity and Quality

The Canadian facility of an international food products manufacturer was straining at the limits of its production capacity. The plant was running seven days a week and management was looking at sales projections that would require a doubling of plant capacity in support of the company's long-range plan. Recipe management across multiple systems was already a challenge. New process equipment, new packaging equipment and a new CIP system were needed.

JMP Adds Spice to Real Time Production Reporting

A global spice manufacturer needed to capture important data from their process. The data played a key role in their daily operations as it was used to evaluate line performance, and to identify and overcome production hurdles. The challenge was that data collection and reporting was being done manually. The customer had concerns about the integrity of the data, inherent to the manual collection process, as well as the length of time it was taking to get the information.

JMP 'Hops' into Action for Brewery Relocation

An international player in the brewing industry was looking to partner with an experienced engineering firm to help them with their brewery plant relocation. JMP proved itself more than up for the challenge.

Finding Solutions for Our Clients' Customers

A large environmental consultancy and software firm needed support with the integration of their software in the production facility of a major Canadian brewery. Montage is a software application that collects, stores, and analyzes enterprise energy data. The data comes from real time product control systems, as well as other data storages. For the client, this data is stored in their facility's PLCs, but due to its design, the Montage software cannot get the data from these controllers. In addition, the client also required that the real time information should be stored for the time period that covers the application maintenance. JMP was contracted to overcome these challenges by providing the system controls to integrate the software into the client's facility and extract the appropriate data in the manner required.

Data Collection Pilot Drives Success

An international manufacturer of automotive parts made a large investment in a production line that produced hydro-formed frames. This line experienced many challenges meeting production levels and providing quality parts. In order to get an accurate picture of what was happening (or not happening), when and to what degree, the client investigated various data collection systems.

Capturing Information at the Boiling Point

The boiler room used an existing Allen Bradley PLC5 in conjunction with a pair of RSView nodes to establish control of the system. System monitoring and system release data was reported directly to two printers in the boiler room via the two RSView nodes which interfaced to the PLC system. The client wanted to electronically log and retain reporting information related to both the System Monitoring and System Release reports as well as capture trending information for the boiler room quality control tags.

Automation Reduces Energy Usage for Brewery

A major North American brewery required JMP's assistance on a project that was part of an overall strategy of reducing energy usage. The client operated 8 compressors in the powerhouse. Five of the compressors were Vilter compressors previously provided with direct PLC control (on-off with priority and sequencing).
