Acquisition Sparks Challenge for Oil & Gas Company

The Challenge

An oil and gas client operates a large gas transmission line in Northwestern US. They were acquired by another company resulting in both organizational and operational changes. The client requested help to integrate and upgrade control systems.

The Approach

JMP has experience with fully automated meter stations and met with the client to assess their current systems and determine their specific needs. The scope of the project was to provide specifications for design of the RTU program, serial link customer signals, ultrasonic meter interface and site commissioning and support.

JMP programmed multiple RTU's which included a five valve manifold system for bi-directional service. FAT and commissioning services were provided along with documentation. As part of the meter station design, additional diagnostics were incorporated for local and SCADA monitoring. As part of the as build tasks, JMP produced a design reference manual and web based CD.
