JMP Brokers Communication between the Factory and the Enterprise

The Challenge

An automotive parts manufacturer needed a highly accurate and cost-effective plant level to enterprise level integration solution. The customer considered several options, and found that higher-end Enterprise Application Integration frameworks are expensive and unwieldy to manage, while lower-end integration methodologies often require manual intervention or unstable integration methodologies, which can compromise data integrity. What the client needed was a simple, flexible, mid-level solution.

The JMP Approach

JMP developed the Plant to Enterprise Process Integrator, which provides advanced integration between plant level Manufacturing Execution Systems and Corporate Enterprise Resource Planning platforms using SQL Server Integration Services. Bi-directional data exchange of XML files promotes flexibility in integration between multiple systems. An administration tool was also added to the framework for ease-of-use in scheduling, tracking and logging integration activities.

JMP's Unique Value

JMP provides a mid-level integration solution that is unique to the market. With an IT-centric approach and attractive investment requirement, the Plant to Enterprise Process Integrator is a cost-effective yet technologically compelling solution.

The Client Payoff

Greater data integrity and accuracy is achieved with the elimination of manual integration procedures required by less advanced integration methodologies. Flexibility and efficiency proliferate with the advanced scheduling functions and the ability to utilize the accurate and timely data as needed for decision making related to production order status, inventory status and quality management metrics. The features of the system allow the client to customize what information they need, when they need it.
