Automotive Manufacturing Solutions Magazine Profiles Autoflex Loader™ Solution developed for TRW Automotive

Date Posted: 12/1/2007

LONDON, ON, October 14, 2007 - International specialty magazine, Automotive Manufacturing Solutions, featured JMP's vision guided robotic solution created for customer TRW Automotive in their October edition. The solution, branded as the Autoflex Loader™, helped TRW significantly reduce their non-value added labor costs when they won the contract to produce a new line of 35lb brake rotors.

“We opted for a bin-picking system to save the operators from having to lift all that weight for a full shift, plus we wanted to give the operators more opportunity to change inserts, keep the whole line running and put more value into making parts rather than keeping the line fed with castings” indicated Todd Denstadt of TRW to AMS’s Duff McCutcheon. The article also captured the results after the first year of implementation with Denstadt citing how uptime has increased, operator ergonomics have improved, and labor costs have reduced.
