Business Achievement Awards Recognizes JMP Engineering for Excellence in Human Resources

LONDON, ON, March 27, 2009 – It was a night of celebration as JMP was awarded Excellence in Human Resources at a gala event, held on March 25th at the London Convention Centre. Established in 1982 by the London Chamber of Commerce, the Business Achievement Awards have become one of Southwest Ontario’s most prestigious business events of the year and the largest of its kind in Canada. “The Chamber is continually amazed by the caliber of our finalists and the range of industries and business types they represent,” says Gerry Macartney, CEO and General Manager of the London Chamber of Commerce. “It's that range that makes our economy so successful.”
The goal of their Excellence in Human Resources award is to recognize specific companies that work to acquire, develop and retain talent, as well as develop successful approaches to protect their businesses from new labour challenges. “We focus on empowering our associates to take greater control over their careers,” indicates Brian Hughes, Vice-President of Human Resources at JMP. “This recognition from our peers supports what we have accomplished for our staff and the Best-in-Class position we have earned as a London-based, North American engineering firm.”
The process to earn top honours is quite comprehensive and includes a community nomination, onsite visit, a review of HR processes and tools, and staff interviews. “I continue to be impressed by the talent and dedication of our team,” adds Scott Shawyer, President and CEO of JMP Engineering. “This latest success has been earned by every employee as it supports their commitment to growth and development.”
