Description:
- JMP is planning for growth and as such there is a need to create some management structure for the region. The new office will require someone to be local to Edmonton to perform the position of Branch Manager.
- The Branch Manager will recruit, lead, manage and mentor a team of technical professionals to service new and existing customers in Alberta. This position is responsible for driving branch profitability while meeting established business targets and strategic initiatives set out in the Branch/Regional and Corporate Business Plans.
- The Branch Manager will work closely with a Business Development Manager to quickly create a presence in the region, particularly in the oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities:
- General Management
- Develop a branch business plan
- Participate in business planning and visioning – determine/promote corporate goals

Production Management
- Provide direction to project teams within the branch
- Align employee task assignments with career management plans
- Monitor compliance with agreed deliverables
- Stay current on team capability knowledge level
- Manage:
- Resource scheduling
- Utilization
- A/R & WIP – maintain a healthy cash flow for the business unit
- Billing – keep invoicing up to date
- Project profitability trends across vertical business lines
- Ensure the quality of work is consistent and complies with standards
- Balance work load assignments to ensure targets are met and employees are engaged with proper work levels
- Manage Branch production and operations

Business Development
- Manage existing customers and coordinate new sales activities in conjunction with Business Development Managers and Regional Managers to achieve targets
- Represent the branch in the community for promotion and business development
- Maintain and develop customer and partner relationships and account management
- Respond to customer requests or inquiries
- Respond to customer request for quotations

Management Reporting
- Set budgets for branch targets relative to the vision/mission and submit to the Regional Manager for approval
- Set and track revenue targets
- Monitor compliance to budgets

Career Development
- Develop and mentor employees
- Identify recruiting opportunities and provide support for recruiting activities
- Be involved in hiring decisions for the office, incorporating input from vertical business lines and HR
- Coordinate training delivery and monitor health and safety compliance
- Manage Performance Management initiatives for direct reports by:
- Completing mid and year end employee reviews
- Helping define employee career plans
- Identifying the training and mentoring requirements of the team
- Manage own career by being well rounded in competencies

Coordination
- Obtain appropriate input from practice areas/vertical business lines and business support to coordinate activities and resources to meet the business plan
- Define a decision-making structure within the branch and submit to the Regional Manager for approval
- Communicate with the Regional Manager for performance feedback
- Ensure employees have the tools and systems necessary to be fully integrated into the knowledge management system
- Communicate regional needs to the IT group (production, inter and intra office communication, access to company knowledge base); set and monitor office/region budgets with IT group; monitor performance and provide feedback to IT group
- Coordinate facilities/asset management
- Liaise with Corporate Finance to manage facility leases
- Manage leasehold improvements
- Organize information flow, including mail, phones and other services
- Create and manage operating and capital budgets
- Coordinate all branch communications internally and externally

- Relevant industry, application, and technical knowledge
- Experience in the oil and gas industry
